PHYSIOKINETIC; SUB-PRINCIPLE: Minor Axis

Blog Article/Post Caveat (Read First Please: Click the Link)

The body contains minor axes, places where we can rotate limbs within tighter or wider circles. The same rules apply to all minor axis as to the major axis of motion; rotations should be as small and tight as possible, thereby maximizing their speed and power.

Respecting minor axis means two things: (1) seeking the smaller axis possible in any given methodology and (2) rotating within the circumference of the limb itself whenever possible. As we apply both elements to strikes, locks, throws, etc., we find that we can conserve our own force and equally deliver more concentrated power to the adversary.

Don’t forget, all the movement of the minor axis depend on the integrity of the axis itself. As self-defense, fighting and combatives are applied the coordination and interconnectedness becomes more complex and difficult yet appropriate realty-based training and practice will remove much of that complex difficulty.
