Visualization can’t literally blow away the chemical cocktail but in training one can visualize it and actually trigger it. As a novice starts, one visualizes a stress-fearful situation and then works to breathe and so on to counter it. Visualization of a variety of situations may give at least enough edge to actually, when the real thing hits, perform those functions and acts that can at the very least lessen its effects enough to make decisions and act appropriately.
